As a Principal Scientist, Medicinal chemistry working on the Chemistry department, you will be empowered to lead medicinal chemistry team including external CRO members as a manager, and a typical day will include:

当社は、研究組織内のケミストリーグループにおいて、主任研究員を募集しています。当社のプラットフォーム技術や早期臨床開発分子のパイプラインの拡大をリードする、熱意と意欲にあふれた研究者を求めています。生理活性物質の設計・合成だけでなく、外部CROを含むケミストリーメンバーのマネジメントができる方を希望します。特に、がん研究領域での強い医薬品化学の経験者の方は優遇いたします。
We are searching for a Principal Scientist to join the Chemistry group within the Research organization. We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated scientist to lead for expanding our platform technology and pipeline of early clinical development molecules. The successful applicant should be capable not only of design and synthesis of bioactive molecules, but also manage chemistry members including external CROs. Strong medicinal chemistry experience ideally oncology research area is required for this position.
役割 POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

- 社内の幅広い研究者グループおよび社外のパートナー（製薬会社、学術機関、CROなど）と協力し、事業に貢献者すること。
- 有機合成、医薬品化学、創薬の科学的・技術的背景を広く知見を有すること。
- グループおよびチームメンバーのマネジメント。
- Design, synthesize, and characterize biologically active small molecules with suitable drug-like properties
- Collaborate with a broad group of scientists within the Company and with external partners (Pharma, Academia, CRO, etc.) as a key contributor
- Maintain a broad awareness of the scientific and technological landscapes of organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry and drug discovery
- Supervise the group/team members
必須要件 BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS (Essential)
- 有機化学、医薬品化学、または関連分野の博士号またはそれに相当する学位を有し、タンパク質分解剤、bRo5分子、コンビナトリアルケミストリー、化学生物学、ペプチド化学、トレーサー合成、がん領域の創薬のいずれか一つ以上の分野で2～5年の実務経験があること。
- 有機合成に関する科学的専門知識（現在の有機化学のトレンドに対する認識と理解を含む）
- チームメンバー、サービスベンダー等と議論し、知的特許やプレゼンテーションを作成するための英語力
- 海外パートナー（製薬会社、アカデミア、CRO）との緊密なコミュニケーションを可能にする英語力
- 優れたコミュニケーション能力を有し、プロジェクトチームに対して根拠、主要データ、問題点、成果を提示する能力を有すること。
- 化学部門における現行のプロセスを改善するための戦略的思考能力
- PhD. or its equivalent in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or related discipline, with 2-5 years of focused training or work experience in one or more of protein degraders, bRo5 molecules, combinatorial chemistry, chemical biology, peptide chemistry, tracer synthesis or oncology drug discovery
- Scientific expertise in organic synthesis, including awareness and understanding of current organic chemistry trends
- High level of creativity and productivity with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to champion chemistry efforts towards new directions to achieve project milestones
- Oral and written Japanese skills (native level) to discuss with team members, service venders and others and prepare the intellectual patents and presentations
- Oral and written Japanese/English skills to close communicate with abroad Partners, such as Pharma, Academia and CROs
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to present rationale, key data, issues and accomplishments to project teams
- Ability to think strategically to improve current processes within the chemistry department
望ましい要件 DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- プロジェクトリーダー経験
- 安全性試験、非臨床試験に関する経験
- 分子生物学、生物物理学、in vitro ADME-毒性試験に関する知識。
- プロセス化学、CMC、毒性試験に関する知識
- 甲種危険物取扱者（日本）の資格
- Experience of project lead
- Experience of later stage research
- Knowledge for molecular biology, biophysics and in vitro ADME-tox study
- Knowledge of process chemistry, CMC and toxicological studies
- Class-A Hazardous Materials Engineer license in Japan
